LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE- SUMMER 2026

You are required to attend each date at their respective times. See details below:
- Wed June 17, 9a-2p
- Thu June 18, 9a-2p
- Fri June 19, 9a-2p
- Mon June 22, 9a-2p
- Tue June 23, 9a-2p
Pre-requisites:
*At least 15 years of age by the last class
*Access to a computer
*Swim 200 yards continuously
*Tread water for 2 minutes ~ legs only
*Complete a timed brick retrieval task in the deep end
All sessions held at the Walsh Intermediate School Pool. $200 fee can be paid after completing the pre-requisites. Course fee refundable upon six months of successful employment with the Town of Branford. Sign up by emailing Lisa at rathsacklisak@sbcglobal.net.
After successful completion of this course, if you want to pursue with becoming a lifeguard with the Town of Branford, you may choose to submit a Town Employee Application through our HR Department. Start your career as a lifeguard with our Town & Department!

LIFEGUARD RE-CERTIFICATION COURSE- SUMMER 2026
Get your American Red Cross Lifeguard Re-certification this Summer season! Choose between one of the below sessions below & register today. Fee is $125 per person. CLICK HERE FOR THE FLYER!
Session 1: Must attend ALL sessions & MUST register by May 31st
- Tue June 2nd, Wed June 3rd, Thu, June 4th, & Fri June 5th, 6:30-8:30pm each day @ the Walsh Intermediate School Pool (185 Damascus Road)
Session 2: Must attend ALL sessions & MUST register by July 9th
- Sat Jul 11th & Sun Jul 12th, 2:00-7:00pm each day @ Hospice Pool (100 Double Beach Rd)
Registrants must:
*Have a Hip pack, whistle, and pocket masks for adult and infant
*Have an American Red Cross issued lifeguard certification that is current or expired by no more than 30 days from the last day of class.
*Complete Blended learning (online) sessions 1-16 prior to the in-person sessions/water skills and written test. (these will be emailed after registering)
