The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is designed to offer qualified teens an opportunity to prepare for a position as a summer camp counselor. Emphasis is placed on leadership skills, learning to become a role model and an impactful counselor to younger campers. Interested individuals should register below starting on March 2nd.
Camps to choose from:
1) Summer Playground Adventures (Ages 5-12, 8:15a-4:15p)
- Foote Park
- Hammer Field
- Veteran's Park
2) Little Explorers (Ages 4-5, 8:15a-1:45p)
- Joseph Trapasso Community House
Please remember, in addition to registering, to also download & complete the below CIT application. This application should be emailed to recreation@branford-ct.gov or dropped off at our office.
Upon review of each application, individuals will be followed up with and asked to attend a meet & greet with department staff sometime in April or May.
A mandatory camp staff meeting/training will be held at the Joseph Trapasso Community House in late June. The date and time will be determined once the CIT selection process is complete.
All field trips are included in the registration fee. Lake Quassy Amusement & Waterpark field trip on Tue July 14th (Summer Playground Adventure only) is a reward for excellent CIT performance.
