As of Monday 4/27/26, the Foote Park Clay Courts are OPEN for use!

Foote Park Tennis Clay Courts Rules
  • Clay courts open play is on a first come, first serve basis outside of scheduled recreational programs (both Parks & Rec and Branford Public School sport teams).
  • Click "Mobile Version" (better to view on a mobile device) or "View Calendar" (better to view on a computer) at the top of the webpage to view when the courts are reserved for scheduled recreational programs. 
  • Open play is NOT available on these select days, times, & courts when the calendar shows scheduled recreational programs.
  • Courts open when the park opens (~8am) and closes when the park closes (~9pm/9:30pm) starting late April until late October (exact date TBD). Opening/closing dates & times subject to change based on the weather. Parks & Rec reserves the right to close the courts at their discretion at any time.
  • Lights currently do not go on at Foote Park (as of 4/17/26), so no night time play is allowed past sunset.
  • Players are required to bring their own playing equipment (racket/paddle & balls) and wear proper athletic attire (sneakers only!). 
  • All players must be respectful to one another, be courteous of their level of play, sweep courts after use, and share court space equally with other players. Signage on how to sweep the clay courts properly is posted on the court fence.
