Bedtime Stories with Mrs Claus:
Broadcasting straight form the North Pole, Mrs Claus is delighted to read five different bedtime stories to your little one(s)!! Every Friday in December (12/5 to 12/19 & on Mon 12/22 & Christmas Eve Night 12/24), you will be emailed a video link of the one and only beautiful Mrs Claus reading an exciting bedtime story. She will read a new story each week. Make sure you pre-register so you can receive the email link!
Candy Cane Hunt:
Have you heard about our exciting candy cane hunt event? We'd love to bring you all the fun, straight to your doorstep! We'll drop off a delightful candy cane craft for your child to enjoy. After completion, place your candy canes in your front yard for others to hunt for! Spread some fun and joy this holiday season! Hunt will be from December 8-12.
Holiday Cards for Seniors (registration not required):
Looking for ways to spread a little holiday cheer and feel good doing so? Take the time to create a holiday card (pre-made ok) and share the joy of spreading holiday cheer and the true meaning of the holiday season. Cards should be delivered to the Branford Parks & Recreation Department office or mail to 46 Church Street. Our goal is to deliver 100 cards!
Kind Calls (registration not required):
If you or a loved one would like someone to talk to on the phone to wish them a Happy Holiday Season, please let us know. A staff member will call individuals, as requested to chat and provide some Holiday Cheer! Call the office for more details and to schedule a time: 203.488.8304
Olaf Hunt (NEW!):
Frozen's Olaf will be visiting various locations throughout the center of Branford for a shopping spree from December 10th-21st! Be sure to register and be on the lookout for clues to see where he might be! Be the first to spot Olaf and submit a selfie to recreation@branford-ct.gov for a chance to win a prize. The more pictures you submit, the more chances you have to win! Offered for all ages! Pre-register before Dec. 10th in order to received the daily clues!
Reindeer Route- House Decorating:
Do you love to decorate for the holidays? Be a part of the Branford’s 'Reindeer Route' as we “Light Up” Branford for the holidays! Register your house/business to get on the “Reindeer Route” and share your holiday spirit! Prizes awarded for Most Creative, Holiday Spirit, Colorful, Original and more!!! Decorate, be creative, and share your lights/decorations! Visit us on line, BranfordRecreation.org or call the office at 203-488-8304 to register by December 8th. The Reindeer Route Map will be available to the public by December 10th on line and will start at the Town Green with the Holiday Tree and Menorah.
Santa Gift Delivery: **please only register ONE child. If you have more than one child, pick one child to register under and you will be prompted to give additional information for every participating child.**
Santa is coming to town to spread some holiday cheer while helping to support the Branford Parks, Recreation, & Senior Services Department and the Branford Fire Department. Santa Claus will hand deliver gifts on a fire truck to residents of Branford. He can only make deliveries to Branford addresses. Space is extremely limited, reserve your spot now! Deliveries will be the week of December 15th between 4:30-9:00pm. Please see our brochure for additional information. Deliveries can only be made to the children that reside in the household. The cost is $30 per household. (no big groups)
Santa Calls:
Here is your chance to talk with Santa and share your Christmas wishes with him. HOHO!!
December 8th, 9th, & 10th. Please pick one date. Calls will be made between the hours of 6:30-8:00p. Offered for Branford Residents Only.
Santa's Workshop:
See Santa and other special guests up close. You will be able to talk to Santa, play in reindeer games, deliver your letter to Santa in his official "North Pole Mailbox", check to see if you are on the "Nice List", become one of Santa's Helpers, work in his workshop and earn your Elf hat, receive some special reindeer food, meet Rudolph and much more!!! Mrs. Claus and her elves will have a sweet treat for each child. Show Santa and his workshop friends some Christmas Spirit! Wear a Christmas shirt, sweater, pajamas, dress, etc. Don't forget your camera! Space is limited! Register early to reserve your spot!
Toddler Reindeer Games & Snowflake Scavenger Hunt:
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer is visiting Branford Parks & Rec to join in on the Toddler Fun! Join us for a morning of Reindeer Games with Rudolph, help Rudolph find snowflakes around the Community House, & take pictures with Rudolph too! Come feel like Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen or even Rudolph himself as you prepare to 'take off' for the holidays!
Write to Santa (registration not required):
Write a letter to Santa telling him your Christmas wishes! Drop it off in Santa’s special mailbox located at the Joseph Trapasso Community House Red and White Santa Mailbox or mail to:
